Pride is alive again
For two seconds
American flags are found
In the wreckage
Hood ornaments made up
Of stripes and stars
Cans of red, white and blue
Paint for your cars

Praying to God for the
First time in years
Jesus is your savior
To alleviate your fears
But the smoke has cleared
And the flags have come down
So what happened now?
Are you not still proud?

But prejudice has strolled back in

CNN, Bin Laden
Over and over again
Airport security
Increased and race profiling

Accepted, not accepting
To judge based on what one s wearing
But understood, it s for good
Might have bomb under that hood

Instant applause from the hypocritical
Who only months before, you could see
At demonstrations, flag-burning

I wasn t much of an American
But to see all these people rush out
And act like they love this country, so suddenly

As much as the next guy, I hope those bastards

Suffer for what they ve done
Even more than the victims and their families
It s a day that will live in infamy
But people, just be true to your beliefs
It s demeaning to pretend to love America when it s popular to do so
And once its over, to go back to your indifferent ways
